He was born on November 28, 1937 in Oneonta, the son of Orville M. and Marjorie (Calhoun) Davis.
Alvin was employed for many years as a clerk for Victory Markets in Cooperstown.
He is survived by 3 children, Daniel Davis of Waterford, NY, Keith (Michele) Davis of Milford, NY, and Donna (Orlando) Rios of Richmondville, NY; 3 grandchildren, Logan Rios, Kaitlyn and Kaleigh Davis; his partner of 20 years, Beverly Newkirk of Oneonta; and extended family, Tim (Rachel) Faulkner, Jena Parker (and girls), Jessica Stahl, and Dana Stepp; good friends Dick and Frank Companie; and several nieces, nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Wesley, Blaine and sisters Doris Shutters and Betty Cornish.
Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
