Carol V. Mondore, 94, of Norwich passed away Wednesday. April 21, 2021 at her daughter, Ina’s home in Norwich.

She was born February 18, 1927 in Shinhopple, NY the daughter of the late Erven and Lydia (Woolheater) Wager.

Carol loved to be surrounded by family and loved going to Bingo and playing cards. She also enjoyed drawing and would draw flowers for her children to color. Her favorite flowers were tulips. Her love of music resulted in her singing on the radio and she played guitar. She was a farmer’s wife and a mother of seven and sadly her singing aspirations were never fulfilled. However, she found pleasure in family outings which included camping, softball games, attending parades, square dancing and she was on a bowling league for several years. She lived a long and happy life.

Carol is survived by her children, Linda and Dennis Gibson, Watertown, Ina Jones, Norwich, Patricia Wilcox, Smyrna, Shirley and Bruce Salton, DeLancey and David Mondore, Otego; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews; and aide, Brandi Nelson. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Howard Mondore; two infant sons, Dennis and Steven; four brothers and three sisters.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Funeral services will be private with the Rev. Stephen D. Fournier officiating. Burial will be in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery, Oneonta.

May you R.I.P. Carol. You were so sweet. Remember Ina, Pat, and you at State Fair many years ago. You found $80 on ground and shared money with us bc you didn't want State police called . We all laughed bc no one would do that. Good memories. You will be greatly missed and never forgotten
