Edith M. Miller

Edith was born March 8, 1906 in North Franklin, the daughter of the late William and Bernice (Munson) Miller.

Edith graduated from One Room School, District #1 in North Franklin. She attended Franklin High School. She graduated from Practical Bible Training School in Binghamton. She spent one year at Gordon College in Boston, Massachusetts. During the war, she worked for Scintilla. Edith graduated from State University College at Oneonta where she later served as a member of Dean of Students Staff, retiring in 1970.

Edith was a member of the Aldrich Baptist Church in North Franklin for many years. She was also a member of the Washington Reading Circle and the North Franklin Walking Club.

Edith is survived by her niece, Mary Anne Dore and her husband, Robert of Oneonta; her cousin, Shirley O’Hara and two nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Evelyn Miller and Maria Miller Albrecht and her brother, Frederick William Miller.

There will be no calling hours.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, July 5 , 2011 at the Aldrich Baptist Church, North Franklin. Interment will follow in the Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin. A reception will be at the church following the interment.
