Elva Baffa

April 20, 1922-February 22, 2026

Elva Baffa peacefully passed away on February 22, 2026 at A.O.Fox Hospital at the young age of 103. Her daughter and friends were by her side.

Elva was born in Queens New York where she grew up and eventually met and married her husband, Gig Baffa. They lived in Bayside, New York where they raised three children. Elva enjoyed time with family, especially family gatherings during the holidays.

Elva lived in her home for 56 years and in 2007 she decided to move to Oneonta, New York to be near her daughter, Andrea. She moved into Saint James Manor where she enjoyed making many new friends and took part in many social activities. She loved to play bridge, bingo and lead the morning stretches. She felt very blessed to have found such a wonderful community there.

Elva is survived by her daughter Andrea Lister of Oneonta, New York, her grandson David Lister, his wife Susan and their sons Gavin and Oliver of North Carolina, her grandson Craig Lister, his wife Ksenia and their daughters, Matilda and Polina of Arizona and her grandson Douglas Lister, his wife Nikki and their daughter Kinsey of Massachusetts. She is also survived by her nephew Jim Williamson, his wife Stephanie and their family and her niece Marjorie Ricciardi, her husband John and their family.

Elva is predeceased by her husband Gig Baffa, her son William Baffa and her daughter Elizabeth Gish.

Elva Baffa leaves behind so many positive memories for all those she knew. At 103 she was truly remarkable. She will be missed.
