Frances M. Fullington

Frances was born on June 2, 1929 in the Town of Kortright, the daughter of Joseph and Florence (Milewski) Oblinski.

She was a 1947 graduate of South Kortright Central School. She married Richard Fullington in 1952,they had a 47-year marriage until Richard’s passing in 1999. She, Richard and their sons Donald and Daniel owned a farm in East Meredith until 1972. They made the move to Franklin where she lived at present. She had a thirty-year career in the housekeeping department at the Delaware County Infirmary until her retirement in 2002.

She was kind, loving and generous. Strong in spirit and will. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Seeing everyone at family gatherings, which she effortlessly hosted for many years. Making sure that no one ever left her home hungry. Often stating “come on over I made enough for an army.” After she passed on the hosting torch to the younger generations, she enjoyed offering well-timed advice and wisdom on how things should be done from across the table.

She was Frances, Ma, Aunt Fran, Grandma Fran and Gram-Gram to us and many of our close friends who adopted her as such. Her loving each as if they were her own. Her home was a safe haven and home base to many of her nieces, nephews and grandkids over the years. She always had a chair at the kitchen table for you and the coffee pot was on. There was a good chance that you would get to enjoy a piece of her delicious homemade apple pie or a slice of pumpkin roll when you were there. She was a hand to hold and an ear to listen.

You could often find her on the sidelines of whatever sporting event or in the audience for special school events, her grandkids were involved in. One of her favorite things to do was “take a ride” with her beloved sister Alice. That was most often code for a trip up to the casino in Vernon. She also enjoyed playing bingo and cherished the bingo friends she met along the way. She was a pretty lucky lady and we were lucky to have her!

She is survived by her sisters Alice Oblinski and Delphine Cocchetto, her sons Daniel and Donald Fullington, her four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Richard.

We invite family and friends to join us for a Celebration of life Ceremony. It will take place at her home (11606 St Hwy 357 Franklin NY) on May 17th at 12.

Frances will be laid to rest in Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin, New York, at the convenience of the family.
