

He was born February 14, 1929 in Eynon, PA. He grew up and attended school in Carbondale, PA and later moved to Oneonta, NY with his family.
Frank married his beautiful bride, Joyce Kelley, on December 10, 1950. They remained a wonderful, loving couple for 72 years until his death.
Frank was proud of his 44 years on the D&H Railroad, where he was a car (knocker) repairman.
Frank and his wife, Joyce, raised four children- three sons, Robert (Cathleen), Missouri, Terry (Carla), Oneonta, NY, James (Chastity), Amsterdam NY; one very special daughter, Karen Ryder; and a special person who they considered a son, Gary Figary.
Frank is survived by 9 grandchildren, Robert Kelsey Jr (Shannon), Matthew (Kate), Stephen (Missy), and Caitlin (Stanlee), all from Missouri, Timothy (Justine), Worcester NY, Michael (Dawn), Cooperstown NY, Jordan (Amanda), Otego NY, Jessica (Joshua), Williamson NY, and Jeanine (Scott), Smyrna NY; and 3 special grandchildren, Ashley, Robert, and Amanda. He is also survived by 33 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill (Barbara) and Gerald, Oneonta NY; sisters, Ann Baird and Jean Bordenger, Oneonta NY, sister, Patty Jarmarkowiz, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Julia (Golka) Harkenreader; brothers, Stanley, Edward, and Larry; sisters Barbara Van Dusan and Ellen Montgomery; as well as one special grandson,Johnathan Robbins; and son-in-law Edward Ryder.
A celebration of life will be held February 17, 2024 at American Legion Post #259, 279 Chestnut Street, Oneonta. Information will be posted at that time.
