Grover R. Jeffers

Grover was born on December 21, 1932 to Grover and Eva Jeffers in Watertown, New York. He was first married to S. Joan Barr on April 27, 1957 and she predeceased him January 8, 1997. He then married Ada Drake on November 30, 2002.

Grover was a top notch Air Force mechanic and served in the Korean War. He worked for over 30 years at the New York Telephone Company, and was the building foreman of the Elm Street control center.

Grover was a member of the Oneonta Lions Club, the Oneonta Elks Club 1312 and the American Legion Post 259.

Grover loved life and people; he was a great husband, father, grandfather and a good friend to many.

Survivors include his wife, Ada; his daughter, Marina Tarbell of Oneonta; his son, Mark Jeffers of Bedford Hills, New York; Ada’s Children, Terry Bliss of Cooperstown, Charles Drake of Hartwick, Cindy Drake of Oneonta, Tammy Willsey of Cooperstown and Linda Drake of Oneonta.

He is also survived by many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015 from 5 to 7 pm at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand Street, Oneonta. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
