John R Barlow

He was born September 25, 1936 in Deposit the son of the late William and Elda (Tinklepaugh) Barlow.

John attended Deposit Central School and in June 1954 he enrolled in the United States Marine Corp. until he was honorably discharged in 1957. Following his discharge, John went back to school and received his GED. He attended Tri-State College in Angola, Indiana. John became a Civil Engineer and worked for the New York City Board of Water Supply in Downsville, NY until his retirement in 1993.

John was married to his first wife, Shirley J. Covell. On July 17th, 1993, John married Beverly (Swackhamer) Shaver.

He loved playing pool, cards, woodworking and tinkering. John also loved to joke and make people laugh.

John was a member of the Masonic Temple.

John is survived by his wife, Beverly Shaver Barlow; two daughters, Bekki Barlow and wife, Cara Pellino and Julie VanCour and husband, Steve; one grandson, Connor Mace; three step daughters, Kathy Barahona and husband Jose, Peg Kelly and Renee Fraser and husband, Steven; as well as several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter, Brenda O’Connell; and three siblings, Shirleen Page, Jane Sherman and Gordon Barlow.
