Lewis L. Garrison

DAVENPORT – Lewis L. Garrison, 76, of Davenport went home to be with the Lord Monday, September 19, 2016 surrounded by his family at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Jamie Garrison.

He was born March 10, 1940 in Oneonta the son of the late Lyle F. and Louise M. (Eichler) Garrrison.

Since the age of 16, Lewis owned and operated his own dairy farm. Even as he farmed everyday he also went to school and graduated from Otego Central School.

Lewis enjoyed the spring time when he was able to make maple syrup and he also enjoyed in his spare time going to auctions.

Lewis is survived by his wife, Rosanna Garrison, Davenport; six children, Mary (Duane) Everitt, New Berlin, Lyle (Tina) Garrison, Davenport, Paul (Becky) Garrison, Davenport, Kristine (Brendan) Exum, Cecilia, KY, Jeffrey (Jamie) Garrison, Davenport and Donald Garrison, Sr., Davenport; 13 grandchildren, Garrison, Andrew, Karena, Honnah, Alyssa, Damon, Donald, Jr., Toby, Ethan, Zachary, Joshua, Nathanial and Gabriel; one sister, Margaret (Robert) Mennillo, Simsbury, CT; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Oneonta Assembly of God Church, 1667 Co Rd 48, Oneonta. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Oneonta Assembly of God Church with Rev. John Grenier officiating. Burial will follow in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to either the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311 or to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 in loving memory of Lewis L. Garrison.
