Michael Anthony Scott

Michael Anthony Scott, 39, of Otego passed away on Friday, July 15, 2011 in Pittsburgh, PA. Born May 12, 1972 in Oneonta, he was the son of Ernest and Della (Wood) Scott. His father Ernest passed away on October 21, 2007.

Michael was a recipient of a multiple organ transplant in 2006. It was a long and tough struggle, but he was a fighter. He gave it his all and was so brave and strong through it all.

He is survived by his daughters, Kristina and Samantha Scott of Unadilla and their mother and sister, Teresa and Brittany Scott of Unadilla; his grandson, Connor Scott; his mother, Della Scott of Wells Bridge; stepmother, Virginia Scott of Laurens; grandmother, Alsada Phinney of Schenectady; two brothers, Gordon Scott of Unadilla and Thomas Scott of Otego; a half brother, Ernest Scott of Iowa and a half sister, Sarah Hotaling, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Michael also had an extended family with his girlfriend, Stephanie Hamm and her son, Dakota Huber. They were a big part of his life and his care.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 27 at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta from 6:00 – 7:00 PM. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Michael will be held immediately following at 7:00 PM.
