Patricia (Patty) Ann Stevens

She was born November 30, 1949, in Clayton, New York. Patty was the daughter of Thelma P. Stevens and Clifford Stevens. She graduated from the Thousand Islands Central School District.

Patty was a hard worker from day one, starting her food service career with the family business in Clayton at Tiffy's Hotel, later working at restaurants in Watertown, New York. Then the opportunity came for the whole family to work together at another family business in Oneonta, New York. At the Fiesta Restaurant Patty maintained the best salad bar in the entire area for many years. When the business was sold, she started working at the Bresee's Department store luncheon counter. When Bresee’s closed, Patty found her home with the Brooks family at Brooks' House of BBQ for 23 years, until she retired in 2017.

Anyone that knew Patty, knew that she was a special lady with the gentlest heart. Her biggest joy was being with family and friends. Patty also enjoyed watching her favorite television shows, like game shows and soaps (especially General Hospital). She was an avid fan of NASCAR, Syracuse University basketball, and the Buffalo Bills.

She was predeceased by her sister, Karen Palmeter (1996), niece, Pricilla Palmeter (2002), parents, Thelma (2003) & Clifford (n.d.), and brother, Lawrence Meeks (2013).

She is survived by brother, William C. Stevens, sister, Janet (Rodney) Wise; cousins, Robert & Angie Meeks Jr., Robert & Linda Perkins, & Mary Patch; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her two nieces, Jennifer (Jason) Rich and Elizabeth (Betsy) Stevens, that stayed by her loving side, along with special friends; Bill Decker and the Brooks family.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday, February 22nd at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St., Oneonta. A celebration of life will be held at 12:15 p.m. at Bella Michaels Restaurant, 57 River Street, Oneonta
