She was born April 4, 1930 in Bainbridge, the daughter of the late Willard and Madeline (Woolhouse) Cross.
Patt graduated from Oneonta High School and the Knox School in Cooperstown (now the Otesaga Hotel). Upon graduation she worked in the business office of the NY Telephone Co. until joining her family’s business, Cross Supply, Inc. and working as their bookkeeper until 1994 and retirement.
She married C. Richard Pindar on July 8, 1950 at the First United Presbyterian Church in Oneonta. Dick and Patt celebrated 66 years together in 2016.
In her younger years she was very active in the Oneonta Jayncees, becoming President and was then voted the Outstanding Jayncee of the year by her fellow member in 1963.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing the violin and piano, ice skating with her whole family, roller skating, playing golf, and knitting for years for her family.
In her later years she knitted many lap robes and baby blankets, donating them to Fox Hospital. She made Christmas craft decorations every year and gave them to family and friends. Her last knitting project was beautiful, colorful scarves, giving them to many Nurses, Doctors, family, friends, and most of them to Bassett, 125 Main St. at Christmas time for their Pediatric scarf and mitten tree for the needy. Over 600 scarves were donated. A true “labor of love”.
She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church approaching 72 years. On February 1, 1987 she became an Ordained Elder and served on the Session and many committees.
Patt is survived by her husband, C. Richard (Dick) Pindar; one daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Steve Mongillo; one son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Lisa Pindar; 5 grandchildren, Monica Mongillo Jakiel and husband, Jonathan, Jared Mongillo, Todd Mongillo, Katharyn Pindar Ridgeway and husband, David and Christopher Pindar; 5 great grandchildren, Bryce Mongillo, James Collins, Alexander Jakiel, Cecilia Mongillo, Benjamin Ridgeway; 2 step grandchildren, Jillian Rumenapp Eastman and husband, Christopher and Joshua Rumenapp and wife, Lindsey; 2 step great grandchildren, Alexander and Abigail Eastman.
