Ramon Delgado

Shakey was born on October 3, 1958 in the Bronx, NY. While growing up he attended Our Lady of Presentation Catholic Church in Brooklyn, NY. He loved watching movies especially mafia movies, comedies and action films. He also loved taking the family to Coney Island Beach, playing handball with his friends, parties, drinking, dancing and spending holidays with the family.

He is survived by his wife, Olga Ortiz; his daughters, Olga Mitchell of Medford, Long Island, Damaris Pastoriza of Brooklyn, NY, Geovanna Pastoriza of Oneonta, Jose Pastoriza of Oneonta, Yesenia Rodriguez of Oneonta, Jenny Delgado of Pennsylvania, Marlene Delgado of Queens, NY, and Christina Delgado of Oneonta.

He is also survived by his father, Raymond Delgado; his brothers, Jimmy Cartagena and William Cartagena both of Philadelphia, PA; his sister Ludim Delgado; 28 grandchildren’ 10 great grandchildren; his nephews, David, Jr., Franky, Ramon, Franky and Eddie; his nieces, Amelia, Nereida, Emily, Laly, Jessica and Jesenia.

Shakey was predeceased by Emelia Santiago, David Cartagena, Edwin Cartagena, Francisco Cartagena, Jimmy Cartagena, Jr. and Eddie Cartagena.

Friends may call on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 from 1 to 5 pm at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand Street in Oneonta. Funeral services will immediately follow the calling hours at 5pm with Rev. David Mickiewicz, pastor of St. Mary’s Church, officiating.

Ramon’s family would like to thank all who took care of Ramon throughout he years in Oneonta, Focus, At Home Care, A.O. Fox Nursing Home, St. Mary’s Church, Father David Mickiewicz and Chaplain Mel of Fox Hospital for giving communion to dad, and Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home.
