She was born October 2, 1938 in Oneonta the daughter of the late Ernest and Florence E. (Brown) Stimpson.
Sandy married Douglas John Goodspeed, Sr. on August 15, 1964.
Sandy worked at SUNY Oneonta for 30 years in the Library and then in the accounting department. While in the accounting department she created a program that they named after her, “The Goodspeed Program”.
Sandy enjoyed doing crafts. She also had a passion for genealogy. She would travel to cemeteries and read headstones and do rubbings. She was the record keeper for the Oneonta Plains Cemetery for many years. But what brought Sandy the greatest joy was children whether it was her own, the many children she was able to help through the Angel Tree program or her church children. She always remembered their birthdays and all the special times of their lives as well as taking care of some of them in her home. She also had a craft time for the girls during their dance ministry practice. She was known as “Gramma Sandy”. Sandy was a member of the Word of Faith Church for 40 years. The church was a very important part of Sandy’s life.
