Victor C. Carpenter, 62, of Bloomville, NY, passed away unexpectedly on June 7, 2024, at Albany Medical Center. He was born in Valhalla, NY. Victor was a man of strong convictions, with a seemingly gruff exterior but with a heart of gold. He was an avid sportsman, enjoyed hunting, volunteering at the gun club, and spending time with family.
Victor graduated from Valhalla High School and later attended Pace University, Pleasantville Campus. He most recently worked as an IT Technician for BOCES at the Walton Central School – here he was able to find a new passion, encouraging high school trap shooting teams.
Uncle Victor was a dedicated supporter of his nieces and nephew - well known for being in the stands at football games, at the sideline for soccer, in the arena for horse shows, up in the audience at dance recitals and in the front row at graduations - Uncle Victor showed up. We will miss Victor’s expertise in skeet shooting, fixing our computers, making fun of our smart phones and his unwavering ability of stating the obvious.
We’ll keep your place at the table for you Vic -
Victor is survived by his brother, Neil (Christine), nephew Nicholas (Yurino), nieces Lauren (Dylan), Morgan (Christopher), Molly (Lucas), and Madeline (Jack), as well as three great-nieces, Kennedy, Louise, and Hadley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don & Marion Carpenter. (and his favorite slipper chewer, Max).
A celebration of life for Victor will be scheduled at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Oneonta Sportsmen's Club in Victor's name.
The Bookout Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
