

Bill was born on August 14, 1941, the son of the late J.F. and Virginia (Ellis) Taylor, Jr.
Affectionately known as “Wild Willie”, Bill moved to Oneonta 12 years ago from Tampa, Florida where he was a self-employed painter. A Main Street resident of Oneonta, Bill met and touched the lives of many people. There was nothing he couldn’t fix and many of his friends called on him for help with a project.
He was a sports enthusiast to the fullest degree, and was an avid golfer who played in several local golf leagues. Bill participated in Main Street activities and was well known for his antique booth at the Market Place on Chestnut Street where he displayed his collections of antique watches and fans.
Bill lived life to the fullest and was a two time survivor of cancer. He will always be remembered for his witty expressions and sense of humor.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Debi) Mastrototaro and her husband, Michael of Schenevus; his brothers and sisters, Joe and Rita Taylor of Diamond, West Virginia, Mike and Sharon Taylor of Diamond, West Virginia, Gail Hanshaw of Jacksonville, Florida, Carol Taylor and companion, John of Tampa, Florida and Beth and Steve Campbell of Buffalo, West Virginia and his companion, Micha Snyder of Oneonta.
He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, his grand doggies, his parakeet and many friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, William Keith Taylor.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand Street, Oneonta with Rev. Scott VanDerveer, officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at which time the family will be in attendance.
