Barbara was born in Germany on January 5, 1952 to parents Eugene and Winifred. She built a life defined by devotion to family and a steadfast sense of self.
Barbara was a quirky, talented storyteller who most valued laughter and smiles. She was proud of being different and of her individuality, and those who knew her best recognized that her distinct spirit was not only part of who she was, but also part of what made her so memorable. She loved country music and Johnny Mathis, enjoyed crocheting, and loved going to Starbucks—simple pleasures that brought her comfort and joy and that those close to her will forever associate with her.
In the 1970s, Barbara met her husband, Philip Hammill, when he repaired broken computers at her job. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Hammill; her parents, Eugene George Key and Winifred Rachel Key; her siblings, Robert Key, Linford Key, George David Key, and Jenifer Gibson.
She is survived by her daughters, Nada Kathleen Sinclair and Rachael Lee Pryor; and her grandchildren, Eric Michael Snyder, Cynthia Marie Snyder, and Anthony Sinclair.
Barbara’s humor and outlook will remain with those who loved her: “every day is an adventure” and “don’t get old.”
