Bobby Stanley was born on November 18, 1940, in Calion Arkansas. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, traveling the world serving his country for four years until he separated in 1965.
Shortly after leaving the Navy, he began a long and distinguished career, with the U.S. Postal Service, that lasted until he retired in 2006. In 1972, he married Leverna Crowell, and they had one son.
Bobby was loved by everyone he touched for his compassionate, gentle, and caring nature. Nicknamed the “Professor” by coworkers, he could speak on any topic and deliver a message that was sound and thought provoking. He was especially appreciated for his wit and humor.
Bobby was an avid sports enthusiast who loved attending high school and college events—and enjoyed following his favorite athletes throughout their entire careers.
He had a passion for history and black culture and following retirement, enjoyed working in the yard, reading his favorite book—the Bible, and having long conversations with family, friends, neighbors, and their children.
Left behind to cherish Bobby’s memory are his loving wife of 51 years; two sisters, Carol, and Peggy;
4 sons Cassavete, Mancini, Sean, and Steven; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, numerous nieces nephews, and countless friends.
Draper Mortuary extends our deepest condolences to the Stanley family, friends, and to all who knew him during this difficult time. Bobby will be greatly and truly missed.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Draper-Mortuary.com for the Stanley family.
