Craig Mitchell Nyman

was born in Upland on June 6, 1968. He lived in Ontario most his life and was a California grown boy. Craig graduated from Chaffey High School in 1986. In his younger days, Craig loved to be outdoors he loved to bike to the beach, he enjoyed going to the family cabin where he hiked and even found a family of crabs (actually they were scorpions) but he was so excited…thank goodness he ran and told mom and dad! Craig played pick-up football almost every weekend during football season. Craig started riding ATV’s in 1989 with the boys, he was hooked! He loved riding and camping. When it came to building the camp bon fires Craig was the man in charge, the motto was the “the bigger the better”!

Craig met and married Jenny Medlin and was lucky enough to bring Ariel Lynn into this world on March 12, 1995. Shortly thereafter Austin Mitchell was born on May 23, 1999. Craig’s life revolved around his children - they camped, rode ATV’s, fished and enjoyed life. Craig loved cooking! Some of his best recipe ideas evolved from Cooking Channel Chefs – Bobby Flay and Guy Fieri. As time went by… Craig’s family became involved with competitive barbequing, smoking and chili cook-offs. As they excelled they seemed to bring home plenty of ribbons but never any leftovers. Craig and the kids volunteered their time and energy to help raise money for our Veterans, VFW Post 2924 in Hesperia where they were considered regulars.

Craig also enjoyed every day cooking and we know he often shared his food creations with his co-workers on the midnight shift at Disney where he worked as an animation technician.

Although Craig’s life revolved around his children he was devoted to his parents, Pat and Ernie. He handled the “heavy lifting” at their home and was always there to provide help, support and companionship above and beyond the call of duty. Just ask Pat and Ernie….

Craig’s family is grateful for the support, expressions of sympathy and good wishes from all those who knew Craig and came to love him as we do.

Craig will be greatly missed by his family, co-workers and many friends. Craig is survived by his children Ariel 16 and Austin 12, his parents Ernie and Pat Nyman, his siblings Debbie Hollinger, Vicky Shaw, Janet Ebling, Dan Nyman, Robert Gonzalez, and their families.
