Frieda Fay Watkins Hoover

Frieda’s parents, Jesse and Myrtle Watkins, had six daughters; Frieda, Estel, Jesse, Maxine, Yvonne and Imogene; Frieda was the eldest.

Frieda married the love of her life, Roy Ernest Hoover, on August 11, 1935, in Armona California; she was seventeen-years old. Roy and Frieda were married for sixty-eight years. Roy passed away at their home in Apple Valley, on December 31, 2003. Throughout their marriage, they were active members of the Church of Christ.

Roy and Frieda raised their family and ran several successful businesses in California, including restaurants, a gift shop and dress boutique. They loved to travel, attend church and spend time with their family. Frieda also enjoyed baking and gardening.

Frieda is survived by two children; Phyllis DiGiantomasso and Tom Hoover, three grandchildren; Shelly Roth, Jeff DiGiantomasso and Brad Hoover; her youngest granddaughter, Brenda Bussey, preceded her in death, nine great-grandchildren; Sammy Abrego, Amanda, Brittney and Bobby DiGiantomasso, Dylan and McKenna Hoover and Nick, Brett and Kyle Bussey, two sisters; Jesse and Imogene and numerous nieces and nephews.
