December 25, 1954 – December 12, 2024
Gladys Natividad (Soler) Mosaquites, beloved wife, devoted mother of two, and adoring grandmother of four, passed away on December 12, 2024, at the age of 69 leaving behind a legacy of love and strength that her family will forever treasure.
Born on Christmas Day, 1954, in Habana, Cuba, to Danilo Marciano Soler and Gladys Mercedes (Aynat) Soler, Gladys was a proud daughter of Cuba. Her Cuban heritage was an integral part of her identity, and she carried her love for her homeland in her heart throughout her life. Whether it was sharing stories of her childhood, teaching her family cherished traditions, or cooking beloved Cuban dishes, Gladys ensured her heritage would live on in the generations to come.
In July 1969, the Soler family immigrated to the United States, settling first in Miami before making Pomona, California, their home. As the eldest sibling, Gladys embraced her role with dedication and grace, caring for her younger sisters while her parents worked tirelessly to build a new life. She graduated from Garey High School in 1972 and pursued her passion for helping others, graduating from Bryman Nursing School in 1974 with a focus on obstetrics and gynecology.
During her time at Bryman, Gladys met the love of her life, Nicolas Mosaquites, Jr. The two were married and recently celebrated 51 wonderful years together, building a home filled with love, faith, and joy. Her dream was to create a close-knit family and raise upstanding children, a dream she not only achieved but surpassed. Gladys was the proud mother of Nick and Danny and a doting grandmother of Nicolas, Natalia, Giada and Cristiano, whom she loved more than anything in the world. Her family was her greatest pride, and she dedicated her life to ensuring their happiness and success.
Gladys’s career as a nurse reflected her compassionate spirit and unwavering desire to care for others. Her kindness, resilience, and infectious warmth made her a source of comfort to her patients and colleagues alike. Outside of her profession, she found joy in nurturing her family, celebrating her Cuban roots, and creating moments that brought loved ones together.
She is survived by her loving husband, Nicolas, her children, Nick and Danny, her grandchildren, Nicolas, Natalia, Giada and Cristiano her siblings, Rosa and Mercedes, as well as countless family members and friends who cherished her deeply. Gladys is reunited in peace with her parents, Danilo and Gladys Mercedes, and other loved ones who preceded her in passing.
A celebration of Gladys’s extraordinary life will be held on January 3, 2025, 11:30am at St. Madeleine’s Church where she was a dedicated parishioner.
Though she is no longer physically with us, Gladys’s love, wisdom, and indomitable spirit will forever guide her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered as a beacon of love, a proud daughter of Cuba, and the heart of her family.
