Idalia Gutierrez

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Idalia Gutierrez, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Born in Mexico, Idalia immigrated to San Antonio, Texas, at a young age, where she met her future husband, Jose Gutierrez, who preceded her in death.

Idalia and Jose made the decision to relocate to California, where they established a home in Ontario and raised their family. Idalia dedicated 30 years of her life to Pitzer College, where her hard work and warm presence left a lasting impact on colleagues and students alike.

Idalia will be remembered as a devoted family woman who cherished her daughters, Claudia Lopez and Yvonne Gutierrez-Sandoval; her grandchildren Pebbles Lopez, Andrew Lopez, Karla Sandoval, and Joseph Sandoval; her great grandchildren Jesse Medina and Hazel Lopez, and her sisters Elida Beatty, Hermelinda Covarrubias, and Angeles Munoz. Her family was her greatest joy, and she was a constant source of love and support to them. She also found happiness in traveling and enjoying life's simple pleasures.

While we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, her absence leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts. Idalia was truly a blessing to all who knew her and will be deeply missed by many.
