Joe M Camacho, 88, of Pomona, California, passed away in Fairfield, California on February 22, 2026. Born September 27, 1937, Joe will be remembered as a hard-working, easy going man who rarely complained and who carried himself with quiet strength and steady devotion to those he loved.
Joe always appreciated classic cars and would cruise with his car club in his younger years. He met Sally while cruising and got to know her better at dance halls. They built a life rooted in family and faith. He valued family and God, and he was most proud of his children. Joe and Sally later divorced but their love and commitment to their family remained strong.
Joe enjoyed family activities of fishing, camping, and bowling. He was an avid fan of the Dodgers and a loyal fan of the Rams (his favorite color was Dodger blue). He loved a variety of music including Mariachi, “oldies but goodies “, Kenny Rogers, Smokey Robinson, and Lionel Richie. He also loved traveling to Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, and Rosarito Beach in Mexico. Joe had a special talent that never failed to impress: Joe could fix anything.
Thanksgiving held a special place in his heart, because he loved turkey, especially the tail. Turkey sandwiches, pumpkin pie and coffee were enjoyed all year.
Joe’s words and sayings will be remembered with affection, including: “Mercy”, “Are you a man or a mouse?”, and “That’s chicken sh!#!”.
Surviving family include: Michael Camacho (son), Mario Camacho (son), Regina Hartman (daughter), Philip Camacho (son), 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
