John Wurtz

John Wurtz, was born July 1st 1942 and died November 7, 2016. He was born in Alhambra, CA, the only and son of George Wurtz and Eleanor Conte. He received his BA in Engineering from Cal Poly, Pomona and his Masters in Civil Engineering from Loyola Marymount University.

In 1967 he was married to Diane Bodkin in Alhambra, CA. They have three children.

Mr. Wurtz was employed by LD King Engineering and later started his own business, JW Engineering which he owned and operated for over 30 years in Upland, CA. John was an active member in the Upland Foothill Kiwanis Club for over 40 years where he served as President and won a service award

for being the Treasurer for 35 years. He was very proud to work with Kiwanis and serve his community for so many years.

He is survived by his son Keith (Sheri); two daughters, Debbie (Bobby); and Deanna (Michael), all of California. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Kyle, Sean, Kyle, Lyle, and Sadie Rose. He is also survived by his sister Eleanor and two nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10AM on November 17, 2016 at Draper Mortuary in Ontario, CA with Minister Joe Cano presiding. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mr. Wurtz’s name to Upland Foothill Kiwanis, PO Box 1955, Upland, CA 91785.
