Josephine Mary Bertino

Josephine Mary Bertino was born in Burbank, California to Antonio Bonetto and Dorothea Carrera. At the age of 8, she moved to Guasti, California. In 1936 she married John Bertino and one son, Bill, was born to them. She lived in Guasti, Cucamonga, Ontario and Upland areas the rest of her life. During the 1940's, Josephine began caring for children whose mothers were working and fathers were away in the war. She continued to care for children for more than 50 years.

She is survived by one son, Bill, three grandchildren, Suzanne Irwin, Michelle Yancy, and Tom Bertino. She has three great-grandchildren, Nicole Mills, Tim Yancy, and Scot Irwin. Her legacy continues with 2 great-great-grandchildren, Donavvan and Alexis Mills.

Viewing will be held at 6:30 PM and Rosary Service will be at 7:00 PM at Draper Mortuary in Ontario on December 1, 2015. A Funeral Mass at San Secondo D'Asti Catholic Church in Guasti at 10:00 AM on December 2, 2015. Because of her love for children, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in lieu of flowers.
