

Lester A. Dressler Jr., age 83 formally of Apple Valley, Ca. passed away on Feb. 11, 2016 in Montrose, Ca. of Alzheimer's Disease. Born on July 1, 1932 at Tahlequah, Oklahoma he was preceded in death by his parents Lester John Dressler and Ella Mae (Corn) Dressler, his brother Humphrey W. Dressler and sister Violet Maxine (Dressler) Harden. He was a 1950 graduate of Chaffey High School in Ontario, Ca.
At the age of two he and his family moved to California and settled in Cucamonga, where his father was a fruit picker. Growing up with immigrants he quickly learned the Spanish language and enjoyed talking in Spanish. In 1951 he married Deborah Diana Tabor, and recently celebrated 63 years of marriage.
They lived in the Ontario/Upland area and had five children. Fred L. Dressler (Denise), Carol Dressler Sigman (Tim Sigman), David (Harley) Dressler, (Lovella), Scott Dressler ( Eva) and Patricia Dressler Farr (Ray). They have thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter. Having several step grandchildren, the word step was never used in the family, all children were treated (and corrected) exactly the same by grandpa. Mr. Dressler enjoyed and spent a lot of time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially enjoying the large family events and celebrations. On Sept. 21, 2001, he celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary by going on a Mexican cruise with 54 family members and close family friends. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dressler was a truck driver for a number of years, before going to work for Ameron/Tamco Steel in Rancho Cucamonga. After 27 years he retired from Ameron/Tamco Steel and occasionally worked for his son in law (Tim Sigman Paving) in the asphalt paving business. Big trucks, equipment and reading were his passions.
