Manuel "Manny" Gomez Porras, a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength and boundless generosity. He spent his life building, not just through his career in construction and solar installation, but through the countless lives he touched with his compassionate heart.
Manny was a natural problem solver. Whether he was under the hood of a car or tackling a complex project in the garage, he had a mechanical mind and a patient hand. He was the man everyone called when something was broken, and he never turned a request away. To Manny, helping others wasn’t a chore; it was his way of moving through the world.
When he wasn’t working, Manny found peace in the classics. He could often be found in the garage with Aerosmith or classic rock playing in the background. He was a man who appreciated life’s simple comforts: a cold glass of milk, an iced coffee, any kind of chocolate, and a plate of homemade lasagna. More than anything, he found comfort in company. He loved being "out and about," surrounded by the laughter of family and friends.
Manny’s greatest pride was his family. He was the "Pa" who lived for his granddaughters, Mia and Bonnie. His love was expressed in the "checks-ins", the constant, thoughtful reminders to "call when you get there" and the affectionate, teasing nicknames, like calling his sister, Ivonne, "Ug." He never let a long trip or a short errand pass without a proper goodbye, ensuring his loved ones always knew they were on his mind.
Manny was preceded in death by his father, Bonifacio Porras, and his mother, Elidia Porras. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by: His Siblings: Sister, Ivonne Porras and Brother, Ralph Porras, His Daughter: Shayla Porras, His Granddaughters: Mia gonzales and Bonnie Gonzales, His Nieces and Nephews: Samuel Oporto, Dakota Trausch and Cheyenne Johnson.
Those who knew Manny will remember the warmth of his care, the constancy of his presence, and his fun loving spirit. He was the one who made sure everyone else was taken care of first. While he is no longer with us in person, his thoughtful ways and the "lasting echo" of his love will remain with us forever.
