

She is survived by her sister Shirley Mosley of Los Angeles, one son John Bruce Dunnigan and his wife Annette Dunnigan, two grandchildren, Christophe Dunnigan and Corey Dunnigan, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mildred attended grade school in Mandeville, Arkansas. She completed her high school education in Texarkana. She left Arkansas in 1949 and then resided in Los Angeles. She worked at Todd's Shipyard as a welder. Todd's Shipyard is where she met her future husband, Johnny Dunnigan. In 1952 Mildred and Johnny moved to Ontario, California from Los Angeles. Johnny was working construction and Mildred took care of exceptional children. In 1952 Mildred joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church along with her family. In 1956, John Bruce Dunnigan was born to Mildred and Johnny. In 1963 Mildred and her family moved to Pomona where Johnny and Mildred had purchased a bar. In 1971 Mildred retired from bar and became the first black bail bondsman in the history of Pomona. They worked the business until their retirement. In 1986, Mildred lost her husband of over 30 years. In 2011 Mildred moved to Los Angeles to live with her sister Shirley Mosley until 2017. She moved to Victorville to live with her son and daughter-in-law. She remained there until her passing on August 27, 2021.
