Norine Zapata

March 29, 1948 to January 18, 2013

Age 64, Norine passed away on January 18, 2013. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Lucy Mutz and the late Roger Mutz. Mother of David Roy Johnson and stepmother of Jessica Zapata. Sister of Connie Mutz Bartling. Aunt of Holly Bartling Culverwell (Ross) and Roger Bartling (Christin). Great Aunt to Alma and Lucas Culverwell and Jackson Bartling. Also survived by many aunts and cousins.

Ms. Zapata was an employee of Claremont McKenna College and a graduate of Pitzer College where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree (’10). She was formerly employed at Nunez Community College where she received an Associate of Business Studies (’03). Norine was also a long-time employee of Tenneco [Exxon/Mobil] Oil Company in Chalmette, Louisiana.

Among Ms. Zapata’s interests were art [Chinese brush painting] and travel, having been to Japan, Peru and Alaska.
