Robert Julian De Ramirez, born on February 18, 1962, in Fontana, California, to Nestor and Theodora De Ramirez passed away on January 2, 2026, at the age of 63. He was a resident of Upland and San Bernardino California.
Robert’s early years were marked by his involvement in the Boy Scouts and Sea Scouts which lead him to obtain his Eagle Scout Merit Badge, the highest rank attainable in the BSA program of Scouting America. This laying the foundation for a life of service and community involvement.
One of Robert’s proudest moments came during his time in the US Army as a Military Police Officer stationed in Germany and decorated with an Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Marksman Badge with M-16 Rifle Bar, Sharpshooter Badge with Hand Grenade Bar and Marksman Badge with .45 Caliber Pistol Bar. Robert kept his life and love of Germany deep in his heart and always dreamt of returning one day.
After Robert returned from his military service, he married the love of his life, Theresa Amstead, who preceded him in death. Robert is survived by his sisters, Margot De Ramirez of Irvine and Carlotta De Ramirez Tessier of Upland. Anyone who knew Robert could appreciate his great sense of humor, his love for his country and passion for animals, especially wolves. Robert enjoyed Country and Classic Rock music which he delighted in following his favorite local band for a night out and dancing.
Known affectionally as the “Dog Whisperer,” it was no secret that Robert’s favorite pastime was spending it with his beloved dog Alvin, Ranger and his 4 legged nephews, Milo and Murphy. (If “Dog Heaven” really exists, that’s where you will find Robert.) He was also a creative cook following in his Father’s footsteps.
This caring and patient man never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was loved and cared about by all who met him and leaves behind a legacy of kindness and gentleness. His parting words at the end of every phone call, “Have a beautiful day/evening” will be fondly remembered by those who knew him.
