Draper Mortuary
Rosario was born to Anselmo and Victoriana Salas on June 9, 1942. She was born and raised in Acapulco. Rosario was raised with one younger sister, Socorro, who passed before her. Rosario was a calm and playful child who brought so much joy to her family.
Rosario met the love her life in 1967. On May 1, 1971, Rosario exchanged wedding vows with her life partner Frank Duran at the Little White Chapel of Las Vegas, Nevada. They remained happily married for 51 years, raising their family in Montclair.
Rosario was exceptionally sympathetic and compassionate when it came to her children. She gave her family unconditional love and kindness, many times spending hours reminiscing about her childhood with her children. Rosario was blessed with six children, daughters, Vera, Anna, Lourdes and Monica. And sons, Jose and Martin. She was also blessed with 12 grandchildren (Frank, Joseph, Anthony, Richard, Victoria, Jose Martin, Pedro, Kane, Joshua, Kemp, Angelina and Cuauhtemoc). And 12 great grandchildren (Thomas, Arnex, Frank, Michael, Carter, Isabel, Rachael, Benjamin, Richie, Aaron, Russell and Vanellope).
Rosario enjoyed cooking for her family, spoiling her grandchildren, tending to her beautiful roses, shopping, going to lunch (Chinese food being her favorite!) and socializing with her friends.
Rosario passed of natural causes on January 23, 2023 at home. She is survived by her husband Frank, her children Anna, Jose, Lourdes, Martin and Monica, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her daughter, Vera, her parents Anselmo and Victoriana and her sister, Socorro. Services were held at Draper Mortuary. Rosario was cremated and remains with family.
Rosario was a good, kind and loving woman who will be remembered by her family and friends as being warm and deeply caring. We will miss her laugh, her smiles, her hugs, her everything. She leaves behind her a treasury of life-long friendships and wonderful memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember her. We love you Mom.
