On Monday September 18, 2023, Timothy Wayne Greenwood passed from a heart attack at the age of sixty-three. He was born in Greeley, Colorado October 4,1959 to Lynn and Jeneva Greenwood. He was the youngest of four children. He is predeceased by his parents and sister Karen. He leaves behind his wife of 19 years, Karen Shupenia Greenwood, his brother Stan Greenwood (Greeley, CO), sister Treva Yang (Santa Barbara, CA), six nieces and nephews, his mother-in-law, Joyce (Red Deer, Alberta), sister-in-law, Nicola (Penhold Alberta), and brother-in-law, Kevin (Atlanta GA) and more good friends than he ever realized!
Tim grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado and graduated in marketing from University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. From an early age he was active in journalism, photography, welding, and car mechanics. Tim loved talking and always had a story to share. He earned his radio broadcast license at the age of 13, and began a life of broadcasting. Live television in Denver at KRMA (PBS) and Sky Merchant soon found him transferring to Tampa where TIm played a vital role in the developing years of The Home Shopping Network (HSN). He hosted the radio show, Limelight and worked as a weathercaster and live reporter for WTOG. In Los Angeles, he was an editor (TV Guide Channel) news writer, reporter, and traffic reporter for KNX Radio. For 18 years he was the voice for a TNT Entertainment show through FJ Productions.
Tim founded Magnolia Street Productions which was active in producing and hosting many parades televised throughout the LA area. Tim loved the Arts. You would often find him directing a camera crew for live theater, community band or school concerts. Tim was a natural educator. He taught production and editing at the New York Film Academy (Burbank), Television and Radio Production at the Huntington Beach Radio Academy as well as teaching at Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, and Eckerd College in Tampa.
When he wasn’t writing, shooting, editing, announcing, or teaching, you could find him creating something. He designed a mobile TV studio, created a universal mount for TV cameras and had a passion for restoring Studebaker cars. He rebuilt two and was on his third when he passed. Tim was an active volunteer and supporter of the arts. In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the band program at Grace Yokley Jr. High, 2947 South Turner Ave Ontario, CA 91761.
