Virginia was born in Kankakee, Illinois to William and Margaret Schultz. She was the middle of three children, between her brother Stanley Schultz, of Las Vegas, who has proceeded her in death, and her younger sister, Sharon Eliman, who currently resides in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
Virginia had a happy childhood in her small town, where at a young age she met the love of her life, Charles E. Granger, musically known in Illinois, as the band leader of The Downbeats, and later in California, The Professors dance band. As residents of Pomona for 18 years and Upland for 27 years, Charles and Virginia were married 45 years. They raised three children and treasured many memories of their nine cruises together, until Charles proceeded her in death in 2003.
Virginia is survived by her three children, Edward Granger of Mt. Baldy, Carla Fischetti of Upland, and Carolyn Spangler of Alta Loma, as well as by her eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Virginia was a beloved resident of Upland for 46 years. She enjoyed riding her three wheeled bicycle and socializing with her friendly neighbors in her golf course neighborhood. She also enjoyed her many years as a loyal parishioner at St. Mark’s Episcopal Parish, in Upland. She loved being active in the church community by attending church services, socializing after Sunday services, playing games with her friends, volunteering with the refreshments, and immensely enjoyed a church trip to the Holy Land.
Virginia was loved and enjoyed by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Draper-Mortuary.com for the GRANGER family.
