

He grew up in Pomona, Rancho Cucamonga, and Pomona. He loved camping, playing sports and using mechanics and physics to create new gadgets and inventions. He was so creative. He could fix or create a tool or solution to anything.
He attended Western Christian High School for three years and graduated from Alta Loma High School in 1972. He was a member of the school’s varsity football, track and field and wrestling teams. He attended Azusa Pacific University on a football scholarship.
He lived in Mt Baldy, California and worked on the ski lifts and provided mechanic support. He loved the mountains and he loved to hike and ski. He worked as a member of the Garner construction crew and worked on the Pacific Coast Highway. He started his own business, Budget Hauling, where he worked with several friends and coworkers throughout the years. He later invented the Leverchair and Mountain Man Motabikes.
On 1982, Wayne met Carolyn Delois Sims and they attended Shield of Faith Christian Center in Pomona, where they were married in 1983. He served as a deacon at Shield of Faith for 20 years. Wayne and Carolyn Evans had four children, Andrew Charles, Danielle Nicole, David James and Diana Cherae. He loved his family and his children dearly. He always wanted to create beautiful memories with his children. He loved going to Newport Beach to ride the waves and enjoy the sunshine, swimming in the big pool at Grandma Betty’s house, skiing on the slopes of Mt Baldy, playing volleyball and different games at church picnics, and zipping around the sand dunes on dirt bikes in the high desert. He had a heart for fun and adventures. Above all, he had a heart for the Lord. He loved going to church to fellowship with the saints, talk about the salvation in Jesus, and the goodness and love of the Lord. He was a member of Truth Tabernacle in Fontana and Inland Lighthouse Church in Rialto for many years.
He moved to Wrightwood in 2016 and was once again the Mountain Man. He enjoyed the beautiful mountains and making creative things such as a bench out of a massive log and mountain motorbikes. Even though he loved Wrightwood, he enjoyed coming “down the hill” to attend church at Inland Lighthouse or visit with family.
He had two grandchildren Nadia, and Michael. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren. He constantly spoke of the Lord and his wonderful family.
He passed away to join our Lord in Heaven on April 3, 2017. He is survived by his mother, Better Evans, Son, Andrew Evens and his wife, Valerie, daughter, Danielle Evans Haynes and her husband, Shawn Haynes; son, David Evans; daughter, Diana Evans Mendoza and her husband, Joe Mendoza, granddaughter, Nadia Mendoza and grandson, Michael Mendoza; brother, Craig Evans and his wife, Virginia Evans; sister, Diane Evans Robbins and her husband, Don Robbins; and brother, Mark Evans and his wife, Lupe Evans.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Foothill Bible church, 1330 W. 15th Street Upland, California 91786.
