

Chuck was born to Peter Joseph Ludwig and Lida Elizabeth (nee Currens) on April 3, 1943. He attended Madison High School and enjoyed participating in sports such as football, basketball and baseball and was known for athletic and academic success and served as class president his Junior and Senior years. He married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Carole (nee Harmon), on January 25, 1963, in Coldwater, Michigan. He attended Ashland University to achieve his bachelor's degree in business.
He worked 33 years at General Motors in Mansfield, Ohio, in the Accounting and Quality Control areas. Chuck was an avid reader and sports fan. He was known to frequent the local libraries weekly and read 2-3 books every week. He enjoyed watching a variety of sports but especially The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland teams. He was a student of history and loved to travel. He saw most of the United States and visited many National Parks, and historical venues. Chuck was very knowledgeable in historical and sports trivia. As a dad and Grandpa, he enjoyed attending kids’ extracurricular sports and events and would happily cheer on his family with his wife, Nancy.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and wife.
He is survived by his children, Steven (Kimberly) Ludwig, Michael (Margaret) Ludwig, Melanie (Christopher) Lienhart, Megan Ludwig; brother, Robert (Becky) Ludwig; grandchildren, Kathryn and Luke Ludwig, Michael and Matthew Ludwig, Lauren (Luke) Miller, Elizabeth and Nicholas Lienhart.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association
A Celebration of Life is planned for June 14, 2025, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Kingwood Center Gardens in the Charles King Ballroom. Light snacks and drinks provided.
