She was born on November 15, 1936, in Galion, Ohio, to the late Viola (Smith) and Leo Frank Schwartz.
Janet worked at Richland Hospital for 25 years and then was able to fully devote time to her favorite activities. She was an avid reader and enjoyed baking—something everyone got to enjoy. She was an enthusiastic sports fan, cheering on the Michigan Wolverines at every chance. Watching and cheering on her grandchildren in their activities was a high priority in her life and she was one of their biggest supporters.
Janet is survived by a daughter, Terri (Brad) Kentosh; two sons, Roger Bloom and Scott (Staci) Bloom; eight grandchildren, Josh (Tiffany) Kentosh, Brian (Allison) Kentosh, Adam (Erica) Kentosh, Lindsay (Peter) Them, Natalie (Peter) Kenyon, Chad (Kyrstin) Kentosh, Jaclyn (Pauley) Kickel and Alex (Tiffany) Bloom; eighteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Bloom; parents; two daughters-in-law, Pat Bloom and Gina Bloom; and seven siblings, Bill Schwartz, Phyllis Hughes, Ernie Schwartz, Bootsie Carter, Richard Schwartz, Kathleen Wallace, and Jim Schwartz.
