Born on January 25, 1955, in Mansfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Jim Ryan and Norma (Scott) Wade. Stephanie had a warm and loving heart, was selfless and would do anything she could to help anyone out, always putting others first. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she started shopping for the next year as soon as it ended. She was a fantastic, thoughtful gift giver who knew just how to make everyone feel special. Stephanie’s favorite activities were being with her family: whether spending time with her loving husband and children, watching her grandchildren play sports, spoiling her grandchildren or enjoying visits from her treasured sons, family was her top priority, and she put them above all else.
She had many interests including attending concerts, listening to rock music, exercising to keep fit, traveling, watching drag racing as well as horse racing. She enjoyed her walks with her beloved canine companion of the moment by her side. Stephanie will lovingly be remembered for her friendly demeanor, selflessness, and unconditional love she willingly gave to family and friends.
Stephanie is survived by her husband, Kent Vandersommen; two sons, Trevor (Jami) Gorrell and Jeremy (Tambreia) Gorrell; six grandchildren, Taylor, Rylee, Lilly, Leah, Evan, and Emma Gorrell; brother, Scott (Kathy) Ryan; sister, Lisa (Jim) Gorrell; nephew, Kyle (Sophia) Gorrell; a great-nephew, Cameron; and a great-niece, Andriani.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Alivea and Daltin Gorrell.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Wappner Funeral Directors and Crematory-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service conducted by Celebrant Vickie Kissel will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 am. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park.
