Alfredo Vasquez

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Alfredo Vasquez, age 69, of DeLand, Florida, who left us on June 2, 2025. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Alfredo was a beloved son, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was marked by kindness, dedication, and faith.

Alfredo honorably served in the United States Army and was discharged in 1980, exemplifying his patriotism and commitment to his country. Throughout his life, he was known for his generosity and his unwavering love for helping others.

A devoted and faithful member of Faith Life International Church of DeLand, Alfredo found great joy in serving the Lord with all his heart. His faith and service touched many lives, and he was cherished by all who knew him.

He was predeceased by all of his siblings, his wife Ruth Vasquez, and his son Alfredo Jr.

An avid New York Knicks fan, Alfredo’s passion for basketball was a cherished part of his personality. Above all, he was a great and amazing father and grandfather, whose love and guidance will be deeply missed.

Alfredo is survived by his children, Rachel Vasquez, Wilfred Melendez, and Carlos Marin; and his grandchildren, Frost, Blaze, Nariah, Alfredo III, Jeremiah, Donavin, Roman, Milan, and Catalina.

A celebration of Alfredo’s life with military honors will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Faith Life International Church, located at 1500 E International Speedway Blvd, DeLand, FL 32724. A committal service will take place on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Q44J+Q9, Mims, FL 32754.

Alfredo Vasquez’s legacy of love, faith, and service will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
