

Cuty Rivera deJesus, born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, and moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut at the age of five, passed away after a life of faith, family, and service. At fourteen, she met a persistent young store clerk named Hector deJesus (deceased), and when they crossed paths again during a church choir practice, their love story began. They married on June 27, 1959, and together raised two children, Maria deJesus and Hector M. deJesus (deceased).
In the early 1970s, the family relocated to Deltona, Florida, where they became active members of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. Cuty devoted her time to the Home Rosary Group, the Council of Catholic Women, and assisted with CCD classes. She also enjoyed fellowship as part of the Red Hat Society.
Cuty retired after 25 years of dedicated service with the Federal Social Security Administration. She will be remembered for her faith, kindness, and unwavering love for her family.
She leaves behind her daughter, Maria “Mur” deJesus-Shuker; daughter-in-law, Irene deJesus; granddaughter, Lindsay deJesus-Kress; grandsons, Daniel deJesus, Ian Shuker, Andrew deJesus, and Ethan Shuker; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Isaiah deJesus, Ares deJesus, Jean Lucas deJesus, and Aliana deJesus.
A committal service will be held at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, located at 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763, United States. The service is scheduled for December 29, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
