Cynthia L. Britt
Born on May 29,1932. She was a strong woman-she had to be. From surviving the Great Depression to raising 4 children and working full time as a hospital administrative supervisor, she always did what she had to do. And that never changed in her, but what did change was that on August 3, 1972 she dedicated her life to serving Jehovah. She now knew that God had a name and a purpose and that was now her life’s work.
She helped many to come to know Jehovah as well and for that we are truly grateful. She is preceded in death by her husband Willie of 54 years, her mother Nellie, her daughter Charlene, her granddaughter Buena and grandson Christopher. She is survived by her children, Deborah Ien (husband Darryl), Gary(wife Rhoda and daughter Khayla), Kevin(his wife and children), Donna,(husband Arthur and children), her sister Sharon Aponte(husband Julian, their children and grand children)her brother John Bowen(and children), Ronald Bowen(his children),her cousin Veronica(husband Stanley and children), her granddaughter Tamara (husband Tavlos)and her roommate, family and friend Charlene Latimer.
She did the very best she knew how in life with her family and friends. She gave what she could of herself, her time energy and resources down to the very end. We will miss her dearly. And although that makes us sad, we know that Cynthia had a hope that gave her a sense of calm and peace. She was not afraid to go to sleep in death because she knew that as the Bible teaches, death is but a deep sleep that God will one day soon awaken her from. She will no longer be elderly, sick, or in pain, but will be young again, with the prospect of a youthful life forever! (Job 33:25 - ‘Let (her)flesh become fresher than in youth;Let (her) return to the days of (her) youthful vigor.’). (John 11:21-25 - “Martha then said to Jesus: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. Yet even now I know that whatever you ask God for, God will give you.” Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life”)
She firmly believe in that hope, and if you would like to learn more about it, and if you want to see her again, please feel free to visit the website jw.org and accept a free home bible study which you can have at your convenience, or enjoy the self taught online bible study on that site. Those who shared her hope, look forward to being together with her in paradise, and that brings us great comfort. (2 Cor 1:3,4 - “Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God”)
She would want to see us all there so please feel free to visit jw.org
The family thanks all for the love support and care shown to her especially in her final days.

To all the family of my dear friend Cynthia,
I was truly blessed to have your dear Cynthia as my friend!
I think I was 16 (over 30 years ago) when I first met her; and we buddied up due to our shared name. It didn’t matter that there was a large age gap- she was my friend and I was hers.
Through the years- no matter how long it had been between visits- we always picked up right where we had left off.
She was indeed a strong woman; yet, beneath that exterior was a heart of gold!
She always had a kind word and was very generous. She never missed giving me a hug; and I can’t wait to see her again... and give her a big hug... it’s just around the corner!
So sorry your family has to endure this loss; but, may we all express our gratitude for having known your mom, grandmother and friend.
May Jehovah bless you and help heal your hearts, Cynthia Lockwood and family

Deborah, Peggy and I wish to extend our heart felt sympathy to you and your family at this time. Although I was not able to meet your mother she had to be a very special and unique person. Strong parents produce strong children and Mrs. Britt did just that. From the information in her obituary and the minor amount of information you have shared with me she was truly a wonderful mother, friend and administrator. Her legacy truly speaks for itself. If Peggy and I can assist you in any manner at this time, anything at all to ease the pain of her passing please do not hesitate to call upon us. Your Friends Forever, James & Peggy.
