

Doris Latham Houser, 93, DeLand, Florida died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at her residence. She was born February 20, 1919 in Liverpool, England to George Henry and Harriet Barton Latham. She and her late husband, Edward, moved to DeLand in 1995 from Cooper City, Florida. As a homemaker, she took care of her family and home. She was very artistic and enjoyed quilting, crafts and ceramics. Doris spent many happy hours in her yard tending her flowers and trees. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward; her son, Buddy; her sisters, Olive, Eva, Edna and Vera; her brother, George and her grandson, Greg. Doris is survived by a daughter, Jeanne Williams of Herrin, Illinois; 2 sons, George (Katherine) Houser of DeBary, Florida and John (Catherine) Houser of Sugar Valley, Georgia; three grandchildren, Susan Buttitta, David Williams and Justin Houser; five great-grandchildren, Jeff Pierce, Matthew Buttitta, Jasmine Houser, Daytona Houser and Nina Williams. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Plymouth Avenue Christian Church in DeLand with Rev. Chuck Hassell officiating. Entombment was private at DeLand Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to Florida Hospital Hospice Care, 770 W. Granada Blvd., #304, Ormond Beach, FL32174.
