

Jay K Willrick, Sr. (Kenny), age 83, of DeBary, Florida died peacefully Saturday, January 17, 2015. He was born May 22, 1931, to Wally and Karin Willrick in East Islip, NY and moved his family to DeBary in 1975. He was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Lois C. Willrick.
Kenny was a lifelong business owner, who took pride in his customer service. Many of his customers trusted him exclusively with their car repair needs for several decades. He volunteered to serve in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War and served as a Motor Pool Mechanic. He was passionate about automobiles and was an avid NASCAR fan. Kenny enjoyed car shows and was a regular attendee of both The Turkey Rod and The Spring Turkey Run for many years.
Ken was a devoted father and grandfather, who readily shared his humor and wisdom. He is survived by his son, Jay K. Willrick, Jr. of Daytona Beach, FL; his daughter, Leslie A. Atkinson (Steve), of New Smyrna Beach, FL; his son, Troy Willrick (Teri), of Palm Coast, FL and his brother, Wally Willrick, Jr. of Jupiter, FL. He also leaves a legacy of eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren that will always miss him. He will be remembered fondly by many as a friend and mentor, especially longtime friend, Robert Chervenie of Virginia.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 1 pm at Daytona International Speedway’s Boardwalk Club, 1801 W. International Speedway Blvd. in Daytona Beach, FL. Casual dress would be appropriate.
