

Jeanette was born on December 19, 1928, in Quincy, Massachusetts to the late Charles and Rose Esther Rowbotham. She grew up and attended school in Quincy with her late brother, Jerry Rowbotham. During World War II, she was a WAVE (Women Auxiliary Volunteer Enlistment) for the U.S. Navy, stationed in Quonset Point, Rhode Island. She visited Key West, Florida for a few summers, where she met and married her late husband, Jimmy Lee Cleary in 1957. Her and her husband lived at a store in Big Pine Key for a time that was owned by her father that was called Big Pine Key General Store. She became a loving mother of five children and, to provide for them, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked as an LPN until her retirement, after which she volunteered for the New Hope Thrift & Gift, Inc. in Sanford, Florida. She was later blessed with five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; in whose lives she was privileged to participate.
Jeanette is survived by her children, Shannon (John) Russell of Glencoe, OK, Ruark Cleary of Tallahassee, FL, Shawn (Shellie) Cleary of Orange City, FL, Meredith (Michael) Vaughn of Keystone Heights, FL, and Maureen (Theodore) Gohrs of Orange City, FL; her grandchildren, Shelby Reynolds, Caitlyn Cleary, Shaye Vaughn, Kasey Russell, Kendall Gohrs, and Matthew Vaughn; and her great-grandchildren, Kennedie Reynolds, Kayley Reynolds, and Malcolm Shaw.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, and husband.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Boulevard, Orange City, Florida 32763, with a reception to follow from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Halifax Health Hospice (Halifax Health Foundation. Department Donation), or Haven Hospice (www.beyourhaven.org/donate).
