Joana Furtado Da Costa Barbosa

Joana Furtado Da Costa Barbosa, 80, passed away July 15, 2016 in Orange City, Florida. She was born February 25, 1936 in Sao Miguel, The Azores, Portugal to Antonio Da Costa Malhao and Francisca Furtado Fontes.

She married Eduardo Leite Barbosa May 30, 1953. Mr. and Mrs. Barbosa worshipped at St. Clare Catholic Church in Deltona.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Manuel, Jose, Maria, David, Antonio, Conceieao, Elias and Serafin. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Eduardo Leite Barbosa; her children Alexandra, Joe, John, Marina, Antonio and Christine; her grandchildren Fabian, Kimelie, Dominick, Keith, Tyrra, Caitlin, Kayla, Kyle, Andrea, Colton (C.J.), Zachary, Liam and Ethan; and her great grandchildren Nathaniel and Pauline.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 18, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM in the afternoon and 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the evening at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Boulevard, Orange City, Florida 32763. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the morning at St. Clare Catholic Church, 2961 Day Road, Deltona, Florida 32738. Father Carlos Bedoya will be the celebrant.

In addition to flowers, the family requests donations may be made in her memory to St. Clare Catholic Church.
