Joann Rutherford

“Betty” Joann Rutherford, 85, of Deltona, Florida, passed away June 9, 2024. She was born in Mozelle, Kentucky on August 11, 1938, to Silus Wilson & Flora (Howard) Wilson. She was married to Walter Alton Rutherford twice. First time on September 27, 1969 for pleasure and compatibility. Second time on August 5,1985 for eternal love.

Joann worked in the manufacturing industries at General Motors, Firestone, Frigidaire, and Hearing Aid Manufacturing industries. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Enterprise, Fl. Her passions were reading her bible and trusting the Lord, gardening, and tending to her birds. She was content being a homebody, enjoying her friendships with neighbors and cherishing the quiet moments with the Lord. She prayed always for her family and friends, with health and good fortune. She wanted the best for all around her.

She was survived by daughter Melody Lynne (Hatcher, Husband Robert) Edmiston, and Julie Irene (Hatcher, Husband John) Leslie. Grands – Nicole Danielle Edmiston, Sarah Elizabeth Stoner (husband, Paul), Elisa Katherine Hatcher, Mallory Ann Rudder (husband, Cody), and Amy Lynne Leslie. And beloved niece Andrea (Wilson) Miles. Also survived by 7 great grands with one on the way!

Joann was the 9th child of 11 children making her the last of her generation. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Alton Rutherford and son Paul Alan Hatcher. She left behind lots of love and memories. She will be missed by many for generations to come

A visitation for Joann will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763. A funeral service will occur Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763. A committal service will occur Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at External Service Location, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763.
