Joyce A. Kates

She came to the DeBary area in 1972 with her family where she worked in the medical field as an office worker. Joyce had many interests mostly alongside her beloved husband Roger, she loved traveling and camping. She also loved NASCAR, Country Music, and playing cards. Joyce was an amazing caregiver to her husband for many years before he passed away in 2014. She was a beautiful person inside and out who taught her family to love and respect others, love God, work hard and have Patience. She will be missed by all who know and love her.

Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Roger Kates, her parents Harold and Leta Skiles and her brother Gary Skiles.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Jody LeFils (Jim), Candy Dease and Lynne Richardson (Steve), her grandchildren; Jill, Jimmy, Jeff, Billy, Daniel and Kim, and her great-grandchildren; Brooke, Alyssa, James, Rebecca, Jarrett, Jenna, Hailie, Dan, Jr., and Abi.

A visitation is scheduled for Saturday January 13, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. ~ 11:00 A.M. at the Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, located at 1295 Saxon Boulevard, Orange City, FL 32763. The funeral service will following visitation at 11:00 A.M. with the interment immediately following at Deltona Memorial Gardens, located at 1295 Saxon Boulevard, Orange City, FL 32763. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Halifax Health Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32127 or First United Methodist Church of Deland, 115 E Howry Ave, Deland, FL 32724.
