He was born in Fort Dix, New Jersey on 3/1/1971. Big Lou graduated from Deltona High School in 1989. After graduation, Luis pursued his passion for music and radio working with 102 Jamz then 95.3 Party in Orlando, Florida. He spent many years hosting and promoting at various night clubs around Orlando, Florida. After his radio days, Big Lou worked for both Airtran and Southwest Airlines where he was a Customer Service Supervisor, at Orlando International Airport.
Big Lou was preceded in death by his parents, Luis D. Almodovar (6/4/2020) and Enid Almodovar (7/1/2023). Big Lou is survived by his two ex-wives, brother Jose L. Almodovar and sister-in-law Jennifer F. Almodovar, and his three nieces Cynthia E. Almodovar, Gabriella C. Almodovar, and Maya I. Almodovar.
