Peggy McCormick, 83, a former resident of Winter Park and Orange County, died Friday January 30, 2015 in a Halifax Heath Hospice associated private care facility in Deltona, Florida, following a brief illness.
Born May 13, 1931 in Nashville, Tennessee , she was the daughter of Albert and Josephine Parish. She is survived by her loving husband Leon McCormick. Also surviving are five step-children; Mike McCormick of Escondido CA; Dee Dee Alford of Winter Park , Linda Wertz, Kenneth McCormick, and David McCormick all of Orlando , two sisters Alberta Hennessy of Maitland and Mary Jo Parrish of Fredericksburg, VA, seven grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
Peggy was an elementary school teacher and reading specialist in both Florida and Georgia. She loved teaching; and was a kind, cheerful, and loving mother and wife.
Graveside services are set for Wednesday February 4, 2015 at 12:00 PM in Cemetery in Winter Park, Florida. Deltona Memorial Funeral Home in Orange City is in charge of the arrangements.
