A loving wife and mother, Peggy Ann was a bright, vibrant and articulate community leader. She served for many years as President of the DeBary Hall Foundation and her work was instrumental in the restoration of this cherished historical site in DeBary. She also worked for many years for Volusia County Schools at Deltona Lakes Elementary and DeBary Elementary.
Peggy Ann is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Mac McAllister; her parents, Homer and Marguerite Simmons; and son Robert. She is survived by daughter Dianne (McAllister) Atkinson and husband John Atkinson of Wilmington, NC, son Gary McAllister of Orange City, brother Robert Simmons (wife Bea) of Saugus, MA, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 12 at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home & Gardens in Orange City at 11am.
