

Richard was a motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed MotoGP along with Formula1 racing. His ZX-14 was named Bucephalus (“Look it up!”), the other two being “My Vulcan” and “My Nomad”. Richard liked watching body building competitions and also enjoyed cowboy movies, starring John “The Duke” Wayne. He lifted weights regularly and had a fond interest in dinosaurs. His affection for Jen and Becki’s Great Danes, Mikko and Knox, earned him the name “GrandPaw” and he visited them often. Richard indulged in writing, which he considered a lost art. He was an amazing writer. Formerly, he was in the security printing industry for 20+ years. He moved to this area with his family in 1992, from Philadelphia and retired in May 2011, from RecoverCare.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 29 years, Barbara; sons, Jeffrey R. DiLorenzo, Timothy D. DiLorenzo and Nicholas M. DiLorenzo; daughters, Jennifer R. DiLorenzo, Rebecca L. DiLorenzo and Megan Marnien.
The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 pm & 6 - 8 pm, Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, FL., PH: 386-775-4260. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Friday, October 21, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church 1310 Maximillian Street, Deltona followed by entombment at Deltona Memorial Gardens in Orange City.
